Description

Medium-hard, highly dense open-cell sponge for the automatic polishing of paintwork. Suitable for all machine types. Enhanced durability thanks to good ventilation and special cooling of the centre. Hook-and-loop tape for fast pad exchange. Excellent handling due to bevelled sponge edges. 85-mm diameter for 75-mm backing plate. Recommended for the application of SONAX PROFILINE NP 03-06, SONAX PROFILINE EX 04-06, and SONAX PROFILINE Perfect Finish.

DIRECTIONS:

Pad Preparation:

    • Align the pad with the center of your 75-mm backing plate. Press firmly to ensure the hook-and-loop tape is fully engaged and centered. A centered pad is crucial for balanced machine operation and to prevent wobble or premature pad wear.

    • Pro Tip: For a smoother start, lightly mist the pad face with an advanced pad conditioner like BLACKFIRE Advanced Pad Conditioner to "prime" the foam.

  • Product Application:

    • Apply 3-5 pea-sized drops of your chosen polish (e.g., SONAX PROFILINE NP 03-06) evenly to the surface of the pad.

    • Cross-Sell Recommendation: Use a high-quality polish like the SONAX Profiline Nano Polish 03-06 for excellent defect removal with a high-gloss finish, or the SONAX PROFILINE Perfect Finish for a flawless final step.

  • Machine Polishing Technique:

    • Before turning the machine on, "dot" the polish onto a small 2' x 2' working area of the paint surface.

    • Start the machine on a low speed (typically speed 1-2) and spread the polish over the working area.

    • Increase the machine speed to your preferred working setting (often speed 4-5 on a Dual Action Polisher).

    • Work in slow, overlapping passes—first horizontally, then vertically—using light to medium pressure. Crucially, never polish with high pressure or extreme tilting, as this can prematurely break down the foam and lead to excessive heat.

  • During Use Maintenance (Pad Cleaning):

    • As you work, polishing residue will build up on the pad face, reducing its effectiveness and heat-resistance.

    • Regularly blow out the pad with compressed air (or use a dedicated pad cleaning brush like the Foam Pad Conditioning Brush) after each section to remove spent polish and keep the cells open for maximum performance and cooling.

    • Critical Warning: Do not allow the polishing area to overheat. If the pad or paint feels excessively hot to the touch, stop immediately and allow the area to cool before continuing.

  • Post-Polishing Cleanup:

    • Once a polishing session is complete, remove the pad from the backing plate.

    • Never use different polishes on one pad. Dedicated pads for specific products prevent contamination and ensure consistent results.

    • Immediately clean the pad using a purpose-designed cleaner such as DP Polishing Pad Cleaner or the Wolfgang Pad Werks Polishing Pad Cleaner to fully remove embedded oils, compounds, and polishes. Rinse thoroughly and allow the pad to dry completely before storing.
